Arsenal is now winless for four matches and it’s still true that they can’t win a match without Mikel Arteta. The midfielder is injured, and Arsenal hasn’t been able to win in any match in which he wasn’t playing this season. In this match the stakes are high, as Arsenal needs to retain their Champions League spot on the table.

Arsenal also lost Bacary Sagna to injury, and the team is once again unbalanced by injuries. Earlier in the season, injuries of key players brought Arsenal to a slump and an embarassing losing streak, forcing Arsene Wenger to make emergency recruitments. But now Mikel Arteta and Per Mertesacker are both out, and the team again seems to have lost its touch.

If both Newcastle and Tottenham win their matches in the last round, and Arsenal loses from WBA, the Gunners will have to play in the Europa League. On the other hand, a point against Albion would do just fine and keep them in the Champions League, whether it be by qualifying directly or having to play in the final qualification round against some inferior opponent.

This Roy Hodgson’s last match in charge of Albion before he takes over the national team. He managed to save the club from relegation and WBA is currently on tenth spot on the table, an enviable position for a relegation candidate. The side lost only once (at Manchester City) in their last six matches and is displaying some confident football. Most of their opponents were relegation candidates, but they also won 0-1 on Anfield, embarassing Liverpool.

Arsenal, due to the importance of the match for the Gunners, is heavily favored to win, with 888Sport offering a price of 1.727. The draw is priced at 4.220 at Pinnacle Sports, and 5.500 is available on Betfair for WBA to win.

Arsenal will find it hard to play a visiting match, to play without Mikel Arteta and the other injured players – against a determined side such as West Bromwich Albion. For the hosts, this is a celebration match after a good season and they will refuse to go down as a victim of the visitors’ European struggle.

Suggestion:
Draw, 4.220, Pinnacle Sports

The season finale of the Italian Serie A will offer a big Milano derby which will have the highest stakes. Milan is chasing the scudetto and is currently one point behind Juventus with two rounds to go, and Inter is currently holding the Europa League spot with three points above Roma, but can also reach the Champions League as Lazio, Udinese and Napoli are all within reach.

Milan is struggling since they saw their Champions League exit against Barcelona, and have also lost their top position in the league around that time. Milan held the top spot for a total of 10 rounds, and Juventus held it for 23, and the clubs are in a tight race for the entire second part of the season. Juventus played 1-1 with Lecce in the last round, and Milan won 2-0 against Atalanta, again reducing the gap to one point only.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the top scorer in the league with 26 goals but he hasn’t been performing too well recently, since the Barcelona clashes. Since Milan is relying heavily on Ibrahimovic, it is understandable that their results haven’t been too good lately.

Inter has a new coach, Andrea Stramaccioni, who is employed only as an interim manager, but he immediately lifted the squad a bit. Inter has been wondering around with their game style for the entire season and hasn’t yet found a style which would suit them. Stramaccioni adopted an offensive style which at least saw the club leave their losing streak behind, but backfired in Parma in the last round as Inter lost 3-1.

Wesley Sneijder is finally healthy and is running the team, and in the meanwhile the other players learned to take a share of the responsibility, which means Inter is stronger now than they were in the first part of the season when Sneijder was a regular. Fredy Guarin and Ricardo Alvarez still didn’t find their way, which especially goes for Alvarez, and just like Milan, Inter is also a one-man team. Diego Forlan scored only three goals in Serie A this season, and Diego Milito seems to be doing all the scoring himself, with 20 goals scored.

Inter will be trying to play offensively in this match, as realistically it’s the only way they can play with these players, especially because Christian Chivu and Javier Zanetti are unavailable through injuries. Milan is a different team, they’ll try to dominate defensively and rely on Ibrahimovic to do something up front. Since he’s not in such a good form lately, it might not work as planned.

Expekt is giving a price of 3.450 on Inter and 2.120 for Milan, heavily favoring the club which holds the higher position on the table. The draw, which is not very common in Derby della Madonnina, is priced at 3.400 at Bet-at-home.

Suggestion:
Inter to win, 3.450, Expekt

In a tight battle for the fourth spot on the epl table, which is giving the Champions League, Tottenham is still holding on. They are tied at 65 points with Newcastle, having a better goal difference, and are only one point behind Arsenal. Chelsea is out of contention for the spot, so Tottenham only needs to win this match to have an easy job of playing Fulham at home in the final round for the Champions League.

Harry Redknapp didn’t get the position of the England national team coach, Roy Hodgson from West Bromwich Albion was elected, and therefore the experiments are now over. As it is known, Redknapp has been using his club to test different tactics he wanted to use in the national team, and Tottenham’s poor form is a direct consequence of that. The players accused Redknapp of spending a week preparing them for 4-2-3-1 and then fielding them in a 4-4-2 formation on match day, and many other things which were showing Redknapp got lost.

It is not known will Redknapp find himself now, but at least the reason for Tottenham’s poor performances and Redknapp’s loss of direction is now gone. Tottenham took the first back-to-back victories since January as they took out Blackburn at home with 2-0 and won 1-4 in Bolton. It was also the first time Tottenham scored four goals or more in an away match since August 2009.

Aston Villa is still struggling for survival. They only have a three-point advantage over the relegation zone, and have performed poorly lately against the relegation candidates or relegation candidates which achieved safety in the meantime. They played 0-0 on the road against Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion, and lost at home from Bolton in a relegation duel. Villa didn’t win for eight matches now and manager Alex McLeish lost the support of the fans, although Sir Alex Ferguson has his back and is saying he’s doing a great job with such a limited squad.

Aston Villa is priced at 4.250 at BWin to take the victory which would probably mathematically secure their stay at the top league, and the draw, which wouldn’t be bad for Villa either, is priced at 3.730 at Pinnacle Sports. Tottenham is priced at 1.952 at 888Sport to win and maintain their fourth spot in the league, possibly even reaching the third if Arsenal doesn’t win. Despite the unpredictable nature of Tottenham, their form seems to be on the rise again and they should take the points.

Suggestion:
Tottenham to win, 1.952, 888Sport

For Real Madrid, the season is over as they’ve won the championship and got knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern. The highest-scoring team in all of European top leagues is now traveling to Bilbao to play one of their last three matches of the season, the remaining two offering easy opponents, Granada and Mallorca. For Real, this is the biggest remaining match of the season and the one in which they can clinch the title mathematically.

Athletic Bilbao put all their strength in cups this season, and are Copa del Rey finalists against Barcelona, and Europa League finalists against Atletico Madrid. In the meanwhile, they have a chance to prove their worth against the Spanish champions on San Mames stadium, and please their fans who haven’t seen that much La Liga success as much as European success. Athletic is seventh on the league table, with one point less than their Europa League final opponents Atletico Madrid, but have already qualified for Europe with a Copa del Rey final and need no more points this season.

Although Athletic performed poorly in the domestic league this season, lately they stepped up and won three of the last five matches, although against the weakest teams in the league, with minimal results. In the last round, Athletic lost 2-0 on the road against struggling Zaragoza. Despite the apparent good streak of results, in reality Athletic is still not performing well in the league and is only waiting for their two biggest matches of the season.

Real Madrid has a seven-point advantage over Barcelona with three more rounds to go, and will soon win the championship mathematically. But they won’t be waiting to do it in front of their own fans, as they’re only playing Mallorca in the last round on Santiago Bernabeu, and need to clinch the title much sooner. With three points from Bilbao, the title would be in their hands.

Athletic Bilbao is regarded as a severe underdog by the online bookmakers, and is priced at 6.500 at BWin to take the victory against the La Liga champions. Real Madrid is priced at 1.620 at William Hill, and PaddyPower is giving 4.100 for the draw. The usual price for Real to win is between 1.520 and 1.550, making the odds at William Hill very valuable.

Suggestion:
Real Madrid to win, 1.620, William Hill

In this match Juventus will be looking for points to win the title, and Lecce will be desperately looking for a way to get out of the relegation zone. Juventus has a three-point advantage over Milan at the top of the table, and Lecce is one point deep in the relegation zone behind Genoa.

Lecce missed the opportunity to get ahead of Genoa when they hosted them on Stadio Luigi Ferraris two months ago. Lecce scored in 81st minute for 2-1, but Genoa equalized to 2-2 only four minutes later. Genoa is the only team Lecce can jump over until the end of the season, and since Genoa is not in good form and didn’t win for 13 rounds, Lecce does stand a chance of saving themselves with another two or three points until the end of the season. This week, they’re facing the toughest challenge.

Lecce is getting points lately. They won at home against Roma, they won at Catania, and took a point away against Lazio. In other matches they were also playing good, and in general are a hard nut to crack lately, after being an easily beatable team for the bigger part of the season. Lecce does have their share of good strikers, such as David di Michele and Luis Muriel.

Juventus is still undefeated this season, with 21 victories and 14 draws. They did have a problem with the draws but upon seeing the necessity of taking three points instead of one, they started taking more risks and opened up a bit. The result is eight victories in a row, including the ones against Roma and Lazio. Andrea Pirlo is coming back after a minor injury, and Alessandro Matri is coming back from suspension to lead the offense. For Lecce, Massimo Oddo is a bit of a doubt and defender Andrea Esposito will sit this one out as he got a red card against Parma in the last round.

Juventus is priced at 1.20 at PaddyPower to win and therefore get one more step closer to winning the Italian title. The price on Lecce to win and save themselves from relegation is 13.000 at PaddyPower, and the draw is priced at 6.000 at Bet-at-home.

Suggestion:
Draw, 6.000, Bet-at-home

After a nine-match winning streak was just briefly interrupted by QPR, Arsenal failed to pick up on the good form and lost at home from Wigan and played 0-0 at home against Chelsea. Newcastle United have their sights set on position number three, currently occupied by Arsenal, and if the Gunners want to keep their Champions League position, they will have to gun down Stoke City on Brittania Stadium.

Stoke-on-Trent side is pretty much safe from relegation, with 9 points over Bolton, and they mostly owe their solid league position to their home form. Stoke City only lost 4 of 16 home matches, winning 7 and drawing 5. However, they were only losing to small teams, and gave all the top clubs a run for their money. Both Manchester teams came back with only a point, both drawing the matches with a 1-1 score. Chelsea also took a point with 0-0, Liverpool lost 1-0 and Tottenham lost 2-1, which means Stoke City is at their best when facing a top club on their stadium. If Arsenal beats them, it will be the first time this season Stoke is losing at home from a top club.

Arsenal is again plagued by injuries, which was the cause of their poor run at the start of the season. Mikel Arteta is out, and Arsenal has yet to win a match without him this season. Theo Walcott is also out, he got injured in the Chelsea match. With Jack Wilshere also out for season, Arsene Wenger is faced with selection issues.

Stoke City will be playing their usual hard-tackling match, and although they haven’t been as dominant this season as in the last one, they’re performing very well against the top clubs, perhaps even better than before – when they were just a dangerous side but weren’t taking that many points against the greats. Arsenal is a short-passing team relying heavily on Mikel Arteta, and the playmaker has been an instrumental part of the great run Arsenal had recently. Without him, the team might just switch back to their earlier habits of not performing well.

Stoke City is priced at 4.670 at Pinnacle Sports to record their 8th victory in 17 home matches on their stadium, and Arsenal is priced at 1.910 at William Hill to win when it counts. The draw is priced at 3.690 at Pinnacle Sports.

Suggestion:
Stoke City to win, 4.670, Pinnacle Sports

Radamel Falcao, Atletico’s signing from Porto, already knows how to reach the Europa league finals and win it, as he did it with Porto last year. This time, despite switching clubs, he has a chance to reach the finals again. The Portuguese striker scored 9 times in this edition of the Europa League.

Atletico Madrid won 4-2 in the first leg, with two goals by Falcao, and Valencia just barely kept the chances alive with a late goal by Ricardo Costa which reduced the deficit to two goals only. Valencia didn’t show much in that match and looked a bit lost, except for marvellous saves ba Diego Alves, and will have to wake up a much better team on Thursday if they want to stand any chance of reaching the finals.

Atletico won the Europa league in 2009, and this season they’ve won in 10 consecutive matches in the competition, which is an UEFA Cup / Europa League all-time record. Diego Simeone and Atletico are ready for another shot at the title, and the matter seems simple now, as they only need to maintain the lead on Mestalla.

Both clubs went through reogranization on the pitch this season, and Valencia had a harder task as they’ve sold all their big players including Mata, and replaced them with cheaper players who they found to be more acceptable for their desired game style. It took Valencia a lot of time at the beginning of the season to do it right, and they finally started performing, but they still need more experience with the flexible Portuguese style, and could use a good player or two. Unlike Atletico, who has Radamel Falcao, Valencia is a team without stars.

Valencia is priced at 1.950 at William Hill to win in the second leg, and 3.600 at BWin to qualify. Atletico is priced at 4.200 at Bet365 to win again, and 1.260 at BWin to qualify. The draw is priced at 3.850 at Pinnacle Sports.

Unless Valencia change their ways completely, Atletico is a big favorite in the return leg as well. But definitely it will be an open match by both sides, and the Europa League is a high-scoring competition anyway. Particularly the second legs in the knock-out phase.

Suggestion:
Atletico Madrid to qualify, 1.260, BWin
Goal market – Over 2.5 goals, 1.670, BWin

Tottenham is in abysmal form, and lost at home from Norwich in the last round. Tottenham is down to a single victory – over Swansea at home – in their last eight matches, and they’re trying to shake off Newcastle and Chelsea in the fight for the fourth spot which gives Champions League qualifications.

Tottenham finished the last season on fifth spot, the dreaded one which brings Europa League. The competition isn’t highly regarded in England and is seen only as a waste of time and a difficult midweek fixture which disrupts the already busy league schedule. This season they performed better in the Premiership and had a good chance to finish third, but couldn’t seem to handle the pressure.

Tottenham played well while they were the dark horse of the league, but as soon as they became a prominent contender for the third spot, and Harry Redknapp became a candidate for the England national team coach on Euro 2012, things turned wrong for the Spurs. It was obvious that the team is struggling to perform, and it reflected on the results.

The Spurs are playing this postponed match now because they played in the FA Cup semifinals against Chelsea last Sunday, and lost 1-5 at home. Chelsea was 0-2 up by 49th minute, with the ball not crossing the goal line during the second goal. Tottenham only managed to strike back once, in the 56th minute, conceding three more goals in the last fifteen minutes. Still, despite five goals conceded, four of them regularly, Harry Redknapp blamed the defeat on the referee, who allowed Mata’s 49th-minute goal to stand. Tottenham had 8 shots on goal in that match, Chelsea 16.

Queens Park Rangers are relegation candidates, and the rich club looking to become something in the ranks of Manchester City is currently in the relegation zone. They are 17th but Bolton, just two points behind them, has two matches less.

The relegation candidates have won all last three home matches, and the opponents were no joke either. Liverpool, Arsenal and Swansea all left Loftus Road, the smallest stadium in the Premier league, without points.

Tottenham is favored to win the London clash, with Betsafe giving price of 2.000. The draw is priced at 3.750 at 888Sport, and Queens Park Rangers are priced at 4.100 at Bet24 to deliver another blow to Tottenham’s Champions League campaign and save themselves from relegation.

Suggestion:
QPR to win, 4.100, Betsafe

Spanish teams have dominated this year’s Europa League same as Portuguese teams did last season. Last year we saw a Portuguese final, and now it is guaranteed at least one La Liga team will make it to the final as Atletico Madrid and Valencia are battling it out in the semi-finals.

Atletico Madrid sold their striker Kun Aguero at the start of the season and replaced him with a star of the Europa League last season, a player wanted by all the top clubs in Europe, Radamel Falcao. It took some time to adapt as Kun Aguero is the type of striker who creates his own chances, while Falcao does not. He needs a lot of quick crosses into the box in order to be effective. Atletico gradually balanced the team to make use of Falcao’s scoring abilities and now the system works well.

Valencia had their own share of balancing to do as they’ve sold their top stars, including Mata who went to Chelsea, and purchased cheaper players who were more in sync with what Valencia wanted to play. After initial difficulties, they’ve gradually balanced the squad into a 4-3-3 flexible Portuguese system, and although they have yet to make the style work in visiting matches, they took high home victories over PSV 4-2 and Alkmaar 4-0 in the previous two rounds of the Europa League. Valencia is also the only remaining club in the competition which qualified through Champions League. Valencia will have to do without their key defensive midfielder Ever Banega, who is injured. His absence was noticeable in a 4-0 defeat at Barcelona against Espanyol on Sunday.

Atletico is favored to win the first leg with William Hill giving a price of 2.100. Valencia victory is rewarded with 3.910 at Pinnacle Sports, and the draw is priced at 3.540 at the same bookmaker. This season in La Liga, there was only one goal scored in their meetings, as Valencia won 1-0 at home and the result in Madrid was 0-0. Atletico does enjoy low-scoring matches, and they tested their style at Rayo Vallecano on Sunday with a 0-1 victory, with a single goal by Radamel Falcao.

Suggestions:
Goal market – Under 2.5, 1.960, Pinnacle Sports
Draw, 3.540, Pinnacle Sports
