Everton - Hull City

Everton had plenty of problems at the start to the season and Moyes couldn’t find the right solution for the big number of injuries and poor form of individual players. This is why they lost some precious points but they have been playing much better lately. They will host the team that started the season in great fashion and Hull were the biggest surprise of the season, but they are slowing down of late and slipping down the Premiership table.

The two teams enter their respective runs after the first weekend of December. Everton lost to Aston Villa at home at the time in a very strange match, as the hosts equalized deep into injury time, only to concede just moments after that. Hull managed to beat Middlesbrough in the same round and they are winless ever since.

Moyes can finally count on a real striker as Anichebe is fit again and he showed that in the FA Cup match against Macclesfield. Everton practically played without strikers and Moyes was forced into improvising but defence was simply remarkable and even one goal per match was enough for the wins. That was the case on the travels, where Toffees won the last four away games by scoring as many goals. They trashed Sunderland and took one point against Chelsea at home, and had they had just one striker against the Blues, they would have won the match as they were the better team.

Hull took only one point in the last four Premier League games and they are on a three-match losing run at the moment, thus they desperately need a good result in order to restore some of the lost confidence and stop their fall in the Premiership table.
To be perfectly honest, something like this was expected, considering that the team don’t have good enough replacements for the first team regulars and this was just the matter of time. They managed to hold on for quite a while and kept their form at a very high level, but it seems that it is no longer the case. It all started with three conceded goals in the second half of the Sunderland match and continued with five conceded from Manchester City. They managed to concede only one against Aston Villa but it is obvious that attack is not at a high level anymore.

I don’s see how Hull will be able to stop excellent Everton. The hosts will be stronger for a very good striker and that should be the only change in Moyes’ team. On the other hand, Brown will be sweating over the fitness of Dawson, Gardner and Folan. The visitors are low on confidence and Everton should have no problems breaking their resistance in this match. Bet 7 on Everton to win at 1.65 at Expekt
